Disney will adapt the best-selling children's novel "Peter and the Starcatchers," which has been made into a popular Broadway show, into a movie, according to Deadline.com.The book, written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, is the origin story of Peter Pan. The Broadway adaptation, which Disney helped produce, received nine Tony Award nominations, including Best Play.
The "Peter and the Starcatchers" book series was published by Disney's Hyperion Books.
According to Deadline.com, Jesse Wigutow has been hired to write the film adaptation. Wigutow has adapted the Robert Ludlum thriller "Osterman Weekend."
