The Walt Disney Co. is seeking tax breaks that it says would help revive plans for a bowling stadium, according to a report by the Orlando Sentinel, but could cost Florida millions of dollars.
Disney and the International Speedway Corp. have a draft proposal to the Florida legislature that has millions of dollars in tax breaks.
Those opposed to the plan say the state should "not have to subsidize the Walt Disney Co., which earned a company-record profit of $4.8 billion during its most recent fiscal year, or ISC, which turned a profit of $54.5 million during its last reported fiscal year," the report on the newspaper website states.
